classes for kids ages 5 - 7 yrs
Building from shapes like circles, squares and triangles, this class helps students create more complex forms by breaking them down into smaller pieces first and then building them back up from there. With step-by-step instruction from the teachers, students will be guided and corrected to complete the project in one class session, but the work is all their own! We definitely want to make sure that students are always doing their best work and adding their own personal flavor to it and never touch or draw on students’ projects to ensure it is 100% artist’s work. They use media like watercolor, soft pastel, marker & colored pencil and create projects both based in real life, and cartoon illustration. Skillsets include: perfecting basic shapes, building form, experimenting with media, learning the steps to creating a finished art piece (sketch, lineart, color), and balance. Students finish an art piece in one class session.
