Creative Art 1.5 was created as a transitional class between Creative Art I and II. In this class, students draw illustrations that go beyond what is taught in Creative Art I, and get introduced to principles covered in Creative Art II, such as shading and composition. The Creative Art 1.5 class utilizes many different mediums, such as markers, chalk pastels, watercolors, etc. If your child has a skill set that is beyond Creative Art I, and would like to learn more techniques to prepare them for what Creative Art II has to offer, this class may be a great fit!
CLASSES:
TUESDAY: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
WEDNESDAY: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
FRIDAY: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
creative art II ages 7 - 9
As a direct step up from Creative Art I, this class offers more challenge and technical instruction for children who have mastered the basics of what are taught in the previous class. Students learn more advanced art principles like shading, perspective, and depth. They also primarily use professional-grade alcohol-based markers that are used to establish shading and dimension in illustrations. If your child needs something more from their art classes, Creative Art II could be a good fit!
CLASSES:

TUESDAY: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
THURSDAY: 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
FRIDAY: 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

character illustration/beginning sketch ages 6 - 15
Students learn fundamentals of drawing, layout and composition. These classes are structured on proportions, perspective, and anatomy; all of these topics come together to create a class that focuses on how to draw the body in proportion. Instruction is based around the emphasis on improving strictly illustrative skills. Character Illustration and Beginning Sketch teach the same fundamentals, but are broken up to work with younger and older children! Character Illustration is a good fit for kids who are interested in learning how to draw the body in a digestible, simplified way, using concepts such as the line of action and simple perspective. Beginning Sketch is a great class for children who are interested in the challenge of learning how to draw the human figure in a less stylized way, with proper anatomy, and serves as a great prerequisite to the Life Drawing series.
CHARACTER ILLUSTRATION:
WEDNESDAY: 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Character Illustration is offered as a 90-minute class ONLY.
BEGINNING SKETCH:
WEDNESDAY: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
life drawing series ages 8 - 16
By learning how to use different weights of graphite, students learn how to achieve realism in a subject. Students also learn how to create depth through color using different mediums such as chalk pastel, charcoal and colored pencil. The class draws its subject matter from life, so students also learn how to train their eyes to draw what is around them, such as features of the face and portraiture. This class is broken up into three levels, meaning your child will get the perfect amount of challenge they need for their skill set and level. The Life Drawing series is a great course that helps push a child beyond the artistic skill set of their age. If they are up for the challenge, Life Drawing may be for them!
