classes for kids ages 8 yrs & up
Creative Art 1 expands on the fundamentals of drawing and form learned from CA Jr, and develops them further. Still building with those basic shapes step-by-step with the instructor, they have more room to create their own details and additions into their artwork, and learn higher level skills. The instruction is a little faster paced, assuming students don't need as much correction as at the basic level. Instructors are always here to help & guide artists into improving their shapes and forms while still making them unique to each student! Skill sets include: learning 3D forms, lighting & shadow, detail and design, how to draw human figures, foreground and background, more advanced media techniques, and texture. Sometimes art pieces will focus on more realistic illustrations of nature, animals, or landscapes, while other times they might be more illustrative and allow students to create cute animals or customized people full of different designs and details. Media and art style trade off week to week. Students finish an art piece in one class session.
